Greetings fellow enthusiasts! I, Darren Cheung, come to you as a proud Audi Track Car owner in hopes that you might consider me for a board position within this club we call home. I have been a proud member since 2013-ish, bringing in first, my Q5 around Portland. From that first DS/Track weekend, I was hooked! Through downloads, run groups, and paddock banter, I feel like this club is filled with my friends and compatriots, and perhaps a few competitors. I have served as a student, a stagnating solo student, and an instructor for this club in my 12ish years. While in the past, I might have been nervous to ask for a leadership position, I feel I am finally in a good place to help drive the club forward with good amounts of gas, gas, gas, turning in when needing to modify course and find the apex of what we can achieve, pushing the throttle to its max potential.
I am running on a platform of boosting membership by means of modifying the goals of our club events. I love the social aspects and how we used to emphasize that we found our lifelong friends in this group. Without even trying, we found our people amongst the run groups, the parking lot buddies and the classrooms. I would like to emphasize that again should I be brought in.
In my professional life, I am a software engineer in flight simulators, recreating the airplane systems and environmental factors that make avionics boxes believe that they are 30,000 feet, going .82 mach whilst actually sitting on a bench in a lab. I help create engineering solutions to fill the right need with the right solution. I have recently run for Issaquah School Board, and an active member in the schools that my kids go to. I would like to increase my public presence, and hope that you would also find me a good candidate to represent our membership to the club leadership.

I am running for the Board of Trustees to assist the club in making sound, forward-looking decisions that will continue to make each of us proud to say we’re members. I’m confident my professional background and my long-standing passion for the Audi brand can help guide Audi Club Northwest through its next phase of growth.
My journey began in college with a 5-cylinder Coupe GT, and my love for the style and quality of Audi has never faded. Today, my garage includes a pair of Audis (a B8 S5 and a B9 Allroad). I have been a dedicated ACNW member for 14 years, attending nearly every HPDE and Driver Skills event during that time, and have served as an HPDE Instructor since 2015.
I’m an electrical/computer engineer by training, but I spent the last 21 years as a strategist and marketer in the competitive telecom space. Now retired from corporate life, I continue to use my background and skills as an advisor to multiple early-stage companies and as a member of the leadership committee for the Seattle Chapter of the Society of Decision Professionals. This background is ideal for helping the Board make sound, forward-looking decisions.
The strength of ACNW has always been its people—a group defined by energy, generosity, and shared passion. With Audi entering Formula 1 next year, we have an unprecedented opportunity to grow our reach. If elected, I will focus on strategic initiatives to expand our membership and update our event experiences, ensuring the club remains the premier resource for all Northwest Audi enthusiasts. It would be an honor to represent the whole of the membership.
